Thousands of people who received DePuy Orthopaedics’s ASR and Pinnacle hip implants accuse the company of failing to warn patients of the risks of metal-on-metal hip replacements. DePuy’s parent company, Johnson & Johnson, has lost multi-million-dollar jury verdicts and agreed to a multi-billion-dollar settlement to resolve a portion of the legal cases.
